masonry openings, gates and work display thoughts
hey crew,
A bit of a pouring
of images and thoughts i've come across and wanted to
share.

attached are some
images of the Art Museum in Colgne that Zumthor designed. the masonry
treatment is pretty interesting and relates to the banding we were exploring on
the facade. Scales are different but maybe look at starting and stopping
the horizontal bands at different points along the whole facade. I've
included images taken in Nigeria of two different masonry modules for
reference.

Also some images on
the iron gates currently used around doors for security that I came
across. Also an example iron gate used in the courtyard of a house design
by Flato.

I had an
indoor game at one of the schools (cardoza) and was wandering around and
noticed how there were many displays of student work, posters and
etc. May we can design the cubbies to both display the students work
of each classroom along with storage of their personal items. just a
thought :)
